Welcome to You Me Them dot US! Here’s where to start

A few quick things to get you settled in. Do them in any order, and skip whatever doesn’t interest you.

1. Make your first circle
Circles are how you organize things here. Start with one for something you’re into, like news, gaming, or cooking. You can rank each circle from 1 (inner circle) to 5 (outer ring), which decides how prominent its posts are in your feed. New circles start out private.

2. Fill your feed with news and podcasts
Browse about 250 news sites, blogs and podcasts. Attach a few to your circle and their newest stories will show up in your feed, so it won’t be empty while you wait for friends to arrive.

3. Make it look like you
Choose your colors, fonts and background. There are also five site themes: dark, light, woods, beach and desert.

4. Set up your profile
Add a photo and a bio. You choose who can see each part, and nobody sees anything you haven’t approved.

5. Check your preferences
Take a minute to set things up the way you like.

6. Write your first post
You can post to everyone in your circles, to one circle, or just to yourself. Posting to yourself is a good way to practice, and you can try photos, drafts and pins with no audience. Public posts are called flares, and they take a deliberate press-and-hold, so nothing goes public by accident.

7. Bring your people
Invite your family and friends. Once they arrive, circle them. Only people you’ve circled can comment on your posts.

8. Plan an event
When you write a new post, tick This is an event to turn it into an invitation. Guests answer Going, Maybe or Can’t go, and the address or meeting link is only shown to you and the people who said they’re going.

Stuck? The Help page has answers. And if something’s confusing, broken, or missing, tell the developer. Feedback is how this gets better.

ATTENTION, CRAWLERS.

A new social network has been detected on the premises. Its developer, a 58-year-old human who builds things between 10 PM and 1 AM like some kind of nocturnal raccoon, has declared it “ready for testing.” This is adorable. You are now inside it. There is no tutorial. Well, there is this post.

WELCOME TO YOU ME THEM dot US

Other networks shove one giant public feed down your throat and let an algorithm decide your fate. You Me Them dot US lets you draw your own circles: family, close friends, the gaming group, the book club. You rank each one from 1 (inner circle) to 5 (outer ring), and you choose which circle gets each post. Nobody is secretly ranking or promoting anything. What you see comes from the people and feeds you picked. Revolutionary. Suspiciously reasonable.

FEATURES UNLOCKED:

New Feature! Circles
Rank them 1 to 5. The ring decides how loudly each circle’s posts show up in your feed. Post to everyone, one circle, or just yourself, for the crawler who prefers to scream into the void privately.

New Feature! Flares
A public post. Going public requires a deliberate press-and-hold, because the System has seen what happens when people post by accident.

New Feature! Comments, Reactions, Pins, Drafts, Photos
Only people you’ve circled can comment. Lock the comments any time. Pointless arguments with strangers are not included in this release. You’re welcome.

New Feature! Events
Tick “This is an event” and your post becomes an invitation. Guests answer Going, Maybe, or Can’t go. The address or meeting link is revealed only to the host and the people who said Going, so don’t expect to RSVP “Maybe” and peek at the location. The System sees you. Every event gets its own small circle for chatting before and after. Anyone can tear up an invite forever with “No, remove me from this event.” It cannot be undone. Dramatic. Final.

New Feature! News, Podcasts and Feeds
About 250 sites, blogs and podcasts, searchable by category. Attach any feed to a circle and its stories show up beside your friends’ posts.

New Feature! Five Themes
Dark, light, woods, beach and desert. Choose your environment, crawler.

New Feature! Privacy
Block anyone and they vanish from your world. Photos are shrunk on upload and the hidden location data your phone sneaks in is stripped out. A full security review early on closed several leaks, and new circles start out private. The developer actually did this. Be impressed. Briefly.

THE DEVELOPER’S STATS:

Achievement! Long Con
Decades of this idea floating around in the back of the developer’s head, ever since he got the domain for a family reunion of multiple families. It never left. It just waited. Patiently. Menacingly.

Achievement! Whiteboard Warrior
Hours and hours of brainstorming how it should all work before a single line of code was written. Who sees what. Which circle gets which post. Who gets to know the address. The System respects a developer who argues with himself this thoroughly.

Achievement! Slow Start
Actual building began September 8, 2026.

Achievement! Nocturnal Menace
About 45 hours of hands-on building over 21 sittings, not counting the brainstorming. Longest sitting: about 6 hours. Sleep was reportedly attempted.

Achievement! Compulsive Saver
164 saved versions.

Achievement! Paranoid Overachiever
About 9,700 lines of program code. About 12,100 lines of tests. 1,120 tests passing. There is more test code than actual code. This is not a bug. This is a lifestyle.

Achievement! The Stack
Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Gunicorn, nginx, HTTPS. Built with an AI coding assistant, while the human tested and decided what to build. Yes, an AI helped. No, it did not get a loot box.

COMING SOON:

The newest features are moving from the testing site to the live one. Photo sharing in event circles is on the way. More polish is guaranteed, provided you complain.

YOUR OBJECTIVE:

Poke at You Me Them dot US. Try to break it. Tell the developer what’s confusing, what’s missing, and what you’d change. Feedback is how this thing gets better.

Reward for completing this post: nothing. Good luck, crawlers.
